STEPS
TO BUILDING WEALTH
Outline
what you have now. Complete your itemized budget. Detail your
personal financial statement (list all of your assets and offset them by what
you owe). Look at what attributes you hold that will get you to the next
level. What are you bringing to the table? See: Building
A Complete Portfolio
Define
wealth for you. If you had all the things you ever wanted, what would
they be? Wealth may not just be about having a couple million in an
account. It might be about having the home you want or to drive the car
you like or take the trip you've always wanted, or it could be putting your kids
through college and giving them the things they need to get a good start on
life, or it might mean having a certain level of financial security when you
reach a certain age. Whatever it is... define it. Draw it out.
List all the details about what the perfect life (a wealthy one) would mean for
you.
Consider
your challenges. List what keeps you from getting all that you
want. You're a single mom with a dead end job. You just filed
bankruptcy. You don't have a degree. You're scared to step out of
your comfortable place because... List all of it. Once you have the
list, consider if those things are really stopping you or if you are just
using it as an excuse. What else could you do to overcome your challenge(s)?
Answer that question with I could do... Change your thoughts from what's
not possible to what could you do?

Seven
Rules of Wealth Building
GO
FOR IT. Just like getting ready for a marathon, you don't just jump out of
bed and run. It takes discipline, training and determination every step of the
way.
Go for the dream. You'll end up a winner.
